Job Description

We are actively seeking a Payroll/Human Resources (HR) Specialist to join our team! We' re looking for someone well organized and detail oriented, in order to process payrolls and perform additional HR/Payroll related job responsibilities. This is a permanent, Direct Hire opportunity, and the ideal candidate should have strong interpersonal skills and be an effective communicator with our teams and field employees. This role requires a keen eye for details, documentation, and a high desire for quality and accuracy in all tasks. This is an entry level position with The Resource, with excellent opportunity for personal and professional growth. The position is located in Winston-Salem, NC and will have an 8: 00am - 5: 00pm working schedule, Monday through Friday. Essential Job Functions:
- Assist with payroll data entry, including entry of time cards, bank information, and pay corrections
- Assign, sort, and distribute paycards
- Correspond with field associates and other staff members regarding payroll inquiries
- Prepare and distribute brand hours reports
- Process E-Verify cases and help maintain Form I-9 compliance
- Complete employment and wage verifications for field associates
- Record field associate absence documentation
- Research and provide data for unemployment hearings
- Assist with weekly and quarterly insurance and 401k mailings
- Train as back up for all branch payrolls and background check processing on as needed basis
- Prepare additional wage/compliance reports and helps with audits as needed

Required Skills & Knowledge:
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Experience in a payroll or data entry position is preferred
- Strong data entry, 10-key, and telephone skills
- Effective use of Microsoft Office tools Word, Excel and Outlook
- Ability to maintain confidentiality in all areas relating to field associate/employee personal information, client accounts and company proprietary information
- Effective communication, organizational, and analytical skills
- Ability to work well with others in a fast-paced environment, with minimal supervision
