Job Description

We are currently searching for a Pipe Superintendent for our client, a mechanical contractor and manufacturer of custom off site constructed solutions, in High Point. This is a Permanent, Direct Hire position, with a competitive salary. The working schedule will be on 1st shift (7: 00am-5: 00pm). The primary responsibility of the Pipe Superintendent will be to study production schedules and estimates staffing, duty assignments and inventory requirements, while helping develop a process plan. Ideal candidates will have at least 5 years of experience as a supervisor and at least 5 years of fabrication/construction experience. - Studies production schedules and estimates staffing, duty assignments and inventory requirements
- Helps to develop a process plan including people, resources, equipment and floor space
- Applies work procedures to meet production schedules
- Coordinate manpower requirements by increasing or decreasing personnel and overtime to meet changing conditions
- Recommends measures to improve production methods, equipment performance and quality of product
- Initiates of suggests plans to motivate workers to achieve work goals
- Maintains time and production records
- Interprets company policies to workers and enforces safety regulations
- Responds to grievances in conjunction with facility HR and Production Manager, and works with subordinates and Production Manager to discuss and eliminate challenges
- Performs other similar or related duties as requested or assigned
- Actively participates in safety policies, activities and implementations

- 5+ years of Supervisory experience
- 5+ years of Fabrication/Construction experience
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as drawings, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
- Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals
- Ability to compute rate, ratio and percentage and to draw and interpret bar graphs
- Knowledge of Email, Spreadsheet software, word processing software and presentation software
- Regularly required to stand and walk, use hands to finger, handle or feel and reach with hands and arms.
- Must regularly lift and /or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pound
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include distance vision and depth perception
