Job Description

We' re seeking a Quality Tech Assistant for our client, a supplier of railroad and transit system products and services, located in Winston-Salem! This is a Temp-to-Hire opportunity with a pay rate of $13.50 per hour and availability on 1st Shift. This is a quality control type of position, where assistants will gather data from various tools, gauges and tooling systems and prepare data reports, quality analysis and reviews. The ideal candidate will have previous Quality Control experience and be comfortable using a wide range of tools for testing. Responsibilities:
- Have ability to perform the inspection duties for any quality gate on the floor
- Support the Continuous Improvement process for the W-S facility
- Participate in efforts to investigate and resolve quality issues
- Communicate frequently with team members, team leaders, and supervisors in your own group as well as in Operations, Supply Chain, Manufacturing Engineering, EHS, Purchasing, and Facilities
- Ability to multitask and prioritize work
- Gather data from various tools, gauges and tooling systems and prepare data reports, quality analysis and reviews
- Requires an excellent attendance record and willingness to work overtime when necessary or required for the area working
- Measure component dimensions and interpret results for conformance versus drawing requirements

Requirements:
- Have experience in the Manufacturing Quality Inspection environment. Demonstrated mechanical and assembly aptitude, & computer skills
- Strong communication skills and a demonstrated ability to build positive working relationships with coworkers, suppliers and customers
- Experience as a machinist or assembler
- Experience reading engineering drawings and blueprints
- Understanding of geometric dimension and tolerance
- Experience operating inspection equipment
- Experience in use of manual measurement devices (calipers, gauges, micrometers)
