We are currently looking for a 2nd Shift Supervisor for our client, the leading global provider of compressed natural gas, propane, and hydrogen fuel systems for commercial vehicles, located in Salisbury! This Temp-to-Hire position offers a competitive salary, supervising on 2nd shift (2: 30pm-11: 00pm), and the primary responsibility of the Supervisor will be to assign duties, examine the work performed, and monitor work performance and work procedures while working closely with the associates they oversee. Ideal candidates will have at least 5 years of manufacturing experience, as well as previous experience in a position of leadership, with six-sigma and management training. - Provide guidance to employees to ensure a safe and productive work environment
- Direct a staff of 5-20 production employees, outlining job assignments of employees during the course of the shift
- Monitor and track employee vacation and absenteeism, and exercise judgment in personnel process and/or procedural areas of concern
- Monitor, track, and verify production activities on the shop floor utilizing the available production recording tools
- Advise higher-level management on work related problems and their impact on productivity and/or the customer
- Coordinate small group activities and group discussion, and encourage participation
- Implement and adhere to all ISO procedures
- Monitor safety of assigned areas and maintain accident reports as required
- Conduct inventories of materials and supplies
- Evaluate and reviews employee objectives and performance, create and implement training schedules, and develop employees career path
- Provide coaching and counseling to employees, and assist them with establishing plans
- Construct, plan, implement, and perform follow-up on a preventative maintenance program
- Operate a work center or relieve an operator for break to ensure continuous flow of product, as needed
- Participate in meetings with direct manager
- Schedule and adjust production, based on master schedules, assembly needs and line performance
- Keep track of raw parts, WIP and finished goods inventory

- Degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school
- At least 5-years of manufacturing experience in a fast paced environment, with at least 3-years in a leadership role
- Self-motivated with excellent communication, Project Management, and interpersonal skills
- Strong leadership and organizational skills
- 5S-lean six sigma training & Management training
- Knowledge and basic skills in Excel, Word, Access, Project, and PowerPoint
- Knowledge of general operations of fabrication equipment (Lasers, Press Brakes, 3 & 4 axis CNC machines, Tube Benders, Saws, etc.)
- Technical knowledge of paint applications
